This is a piece from a renowned family collection, being publicly displayed for the first time. It appears to have been passed down through generations and passed special preservation screening during the Heisei era. Inscription: Bizen Osafune-ju Yokoyama Yūhō, February 1860. Yūhō was a master craftsman, the 58th-generation descendant of Tomonari and the brother-in-law of Yūei. This is a superb example of the Ichimonji style, representing the absolute pinnacle of Yūei's work. The mounts are also made specifically for this sword, making it a truly complete masterpiece
